Childcare, elder care, and home health are the invisible on-ramps of the economy, but too many are still running on outdated tools. Al can change that.
It’s time we fund and build tech for this critical scaffolding, especially for the independent operators.
Honored to be featured in the Summer 2026 edition of @enterprisingwomen magazine “Understanding Al” issue discussing the importance of Al for the care industry. “That is not a gender story. That is a GDP story.”

WASHINGTON, July 29 (Reuters) – President Donald T WASHINGTON, July 29 (Reuters) – President Donald Trump said on Wednesday the United States would hit Iran very hard after an attack on the U.S. military in Jordan.

“So it’s our turn,” Trump told reporters at the White House. He said Washington would see if there was an agreement at some point between the two nations to end their war, “but we’re going to hit them very hard.”

Iran‘s Revolutionary Guards on Tuesday said they fired several ballistic missiles at a U.S. air base and a military center in Jordan. Separately, the U.S. military said it had intercepted multiple ballistic missiles.

Trump also said he had been briefed on a drone hit on a U.S.-owned gas storage ‌tanker at Egypt’s Mediterranean port of Damietta. “I’ve been briefed. It’s a little more of the same. But it’s going to be straightening out,” Trump said without elaborating.

Trump, responding to a Reuters report that Iran is expected to receive a first shipment out of up to 400 Chinese-made shoulder-fired air-defense missile launchers, said such a development would be surprising.

Trump said earlier this week that he trusted China’s President Xi Jinping, as well as Russian leader Vladimir Putin, when they told him they would not get involved in the war on Iran‘s behalf.

“Well, that would be surprising. I mean, things like that happen, but that would be surprising. He (Xi) told me very strongly he wouldn’t partake, but he knows I’d be quite disappointed,” Trump said in response to a question about the Reuters report.

DUBAI/CAIRO, July 29 (Reuters) – A drone hit a U.S.-owned gas storage tanker at Egypt’s Mediterranean port of Damietta, British maritime security firm Ambrey said in an initial assessment on Wednesday, in a potential spread of the Middle East war.

The drone hit floating storage tanker Energos Winter, causing a fire that then spread to another vessel, three trading sources familiar with the incident said.

A statement from Egypt’s petroleum ministry confirmed a fire at the port but made no mention of a drone attack.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the incident, which the ministry said was dealt with immediately with no casualties.

Earlier on Wednesday the United States and Saudi Arabia struck Iran-backed paramilitary groups in Iraq, and U.S. President Donald Trump vowed to “beat the fucking shit” out of Iran for firing on U.S. troops days after he halted air strikes.

Iran confirmed overnight that it had fired on U.S. bases in Jordan and at ships in the Strait of Hormuz, and also spurned an Omani proposal to jointly manage the strait.

“We’ll be hitting them hard,” Fox News quoted Trump as saying.
WASHINGTON, July 29 (Reuters) – U.S. President Don WASHINGTON, July 29 (Reuters) – U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu explored all paths to curb Iran‘s nuclear project in their meeting, including diplomacy, economic pressure and force, a senior Israeli official said on Wednesday.

Netanyahu did not tell Trump that Israel’s preference was for an attack on Iran, the official said in a briefing with reporters after the two men met in the White House on Tuesday.

“In the end, it’s his decision,” the official said of Trump. Trump has three options and all three were discussed at length, the official said: “A deal, continuing the blockade and economic pressures, and a massive strike.”

The official said that there were signs Iran‘s clerical rulers have been rattled by rising inflation and public frustration but that the impact on the global economy and oil markets was also a consideration.

Oil prices shot up on Wednesday in one of the sharpest spikes since the war began on February 28, with a joint Israeli-U.S. aerial bombing campaign in Iran. Tehran responded with strikes on Israel and [Persian] Gulf states.

Israel had not taken part in the latest two-week U.S. bombing campaign this month that provoked Tehran to fire on U.S. bases in response, but it has warned Tehran that it would respond forcefully if attacked.

WASHINGTON, July 29 (Reuters) – The United States on Wednesday issued another round of Iran-related sanctions, taking aim at Iran‘s efforts to “monetize the Strait of Hormuz” with designations of 10 entities and eight more tankers, the U.S. Treasury Department said.

Six of the entities targeted for sanctions were based in China, it said.

The sanctions followed a vow by U.S. President Donald Trump earlier on Wednesday to hit Iran hard, according to an interview with Fox News, after the U.S. military said it had intercepted multiple ballistic missiles launched by Iran toward American forces in the Middle East. The United States and Saudi Arabia jointly struck Iran-backed groups in Iraq on Wednesday.

Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control designated two firms, the Persian Gulf Marine Insurance Co and HormuzSafe Marine Services Authority, which it said were integral to an Iranian scheme to extract digital assets and other revenue from ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz through various insurance policies.

“With its economy in freefall and inflation in the triple digits, the regime is desperate for cash,” said Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent.

“The United States will not allow Iran to hold global commerce hostage or use international shipping to finance the IRGC’s terrorism, aggression, and repression,” Bessent said, referring to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

The new sanctions are part of a broader push by the Trump administration to leverage both economic tools and military strikes to intensify pressure on Iran and end a deeply unpopular war that has dragged Trump’s approval ratings lower.

“The Iran war demonstrates that this administration will use U.S. economic and military power in concert,” said Jess Hoversen, a former OFAC official who is now chief economist at Column, a digital platform bank.

Iranian authorities did not confirm the losses.
