A simple yet perfect dish of green beans braised in oil.

Ingredients
– 1 kg green beans
– A handful of ripe cherry tomatoes
– 1 tbsp tomato paste
– 2 small onions, cut into wedges
– 4 garlic cloves
– 1 tbsp pomegranate molasses
– ½ cup olive oil
– Salt to taste
– 1 tsp Baharat (a fragrant Middle Eastern spice blend)
Instructions
1. Trim the tops and tails of the green beans, then break them into 4 cm pieces. Wash thoroughly and set aside.
2. In a heavy-based pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the garlic and onions, sautéing until they start to brown.
3. Stir in the green beans and cook until fragrant, allowing the onions and garlic to turn slightly translucent.
4. Add the tomato paste, pomegranate molasses, salt, and Baharat. Mix well.
5. Cover and cook over medium-high heat for 20–30 minutes, or until the beans are tender but still have a slight bite.
6. Uncover and sauté for a few more minutes to caramelize the beans slightly.
7. Serve warm or at room temperature with fresh Lebanese bread.
