Sveto Muhammad Ishoq graduated from the American University of Afghanistan with a full scholarship award from the US Embassy. She is the first Afghan to be chosen as a Schwarzman Scholar. She will undertake her Master’s degree in Global Affairs in Beijing, China in August 2018. She is a CFO at Yes to Gender Equality Movement (YGEM), the first youth-led social enterprise startup focused on achieving gender equality globally .Currently, she volunteers for several women’s support and women’s rights organisations including the Everywoman Everywhere Organization, which aims to establish an International Treaty on Violence against Women.
Sveto is a woman's rights activist shown through her writings, which aims to amplify the voices of women in Afghanistan. Her articles have been published in Afghan Women’s Writing Project website, the Anna May Project website, and Star Educational Society’s Interstellar Bulletin Newspaper. She is the winner of the ‘Diversity and Inclusion’ essay writing competition organized by the Embassy of Canada in Afghanistan, in December 2017.
She is fluent in Dari, Russian, English, Tajik and basic Urdu.
