Masih Alinejad Talks to Kayhan Life About Her Brother’s Arrest

Alireza Alinejad, the brother of Masih Alinejad a New York based journalist and human rights activist who founded the anti-compulsory hijab movement in Iran, was sentenced to 8 years in prison. Alireza was arrested last September in what experts say is an attempt to pressure his sister, who has repeatedly criticized the Iranian government. Charges against him include “conspiracy to act against the country’s security,” “propaganda against the Islamic Republic” and “insulting the Supreme leader, Ali Khamenei.”
