Brother of Human Rights Activist Masih Alinejad Says She Warned the Family About a Kidnap Plot

In a video published last September, Alireza Alinejad, the brother of human rights activist Masih Alinejad, said his sister told family members that there had been a plot by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards to lure her to Turkey and kidnap her once she set foot in the country.

Alireza, who was sentenced to 8 years in prison last week on charges which human rights experts say are unsubstantiated and intended to pressure his sister into silence, said in the video that the Guards were willing to pay up to 70 million tomans for a family trip during which officials would be advising his sister.
