BASLOGH – is a sweet Iranian snack similar to a Turkish delight.
Saffron Water:
1/4 tsp saffron powder
1/2 c tapioca flour*
3 tbsp oat flour
1 c grape molasses
1/2 c coconut sugar
1 c water
1 tbsp rose water saffron water
1 c toasted walnuts
1/2 tsp cardamom
20g unsalted butter
pinch of walk
Instructions:
. Grease a small dish or tray
. In a large saucepan add the starch and flour and whisk on medium heat
. Add water, grape molasses, coconut sugar and cardamom and whisk
. When thickened, add butter.
. Add in half the walnuts, reserving the rest for topping.
. Pour into the dish.
. Arrange walnuts on top
*or you can try 1/4 c cornstarch – I haven’t tried this myself
