BERLIN, July 1 (Reuters) – Germany is very concerned by Iran‘s announcement on Monday that it has amassed more low-enriched uranium than permitted under its 2015 deal with major powers, a Foreign Ministry source said.

“We call on Iran to reverse this step and not to further undermine the nuclear agreement,” the source said, adding that Germany would carefully consider next steps together with other participants in the nuclear deal.

Iran‘s move was its first major step in violation of the deal since President Donald Trump pulled the United States out of it more than a year ago.
