Kayhan London – The prominent Iranian folklore singer and soprano Pari Zanganeh (born in 1939) has revealed that one of her daughters was once married to the Saudi Arabian arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi (1935-2017), the uncle of Jamal Ahmad Khashoggi, the journalist and Washington Post contributor who was allegedly murdered at the Saudi Arabian consulate in Istanbul on October 2.
Riyadh has offered conflicting accounts of what took place in the consulate building that led to Mr. Khashoggi’s violent death.
“There have been some reports on social media recently suggesting that I was married to Adnan Khashoggi. I categorically deny these rumors. My husband is Hossein Zanganeh,” the Iran daily reported quoting Mrs. Zanganeh as saying. “My daughter Shahpari married Adnan Khashoggi nearly fifty years ago. They had two children who are alive today.”
