Iranian Women’s Taekwondo Team Wins Gold In Taipei

 


Kayhan London: A three-member Iranian women’s taekwondo team has won first place in the 11th World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships, held in mid-November in Taipei, the capital of Taiwan. Atousa Farahmand, Masoumeh Hosseini and Sona Razaghi secured the gold medal by defeating their Korean opponents in the women poomsae 31-40 age category. France and Finland shared third place.

Ali Salmani, Akbar Forouzan, and Rahmat Nazari, members of the Iranian men’s taekwondo team, won bronze in the poomsae 31-to-40 age category.

South Korea and the Philippines won first and second place, respectively, in the overall men’s poomsae team competition. Iran and the U.S.A shared third place.
