Drug Addiction Widespread in Rich Families, Iran’s Vice President Says

Kayhan London: Many children of the affluent and wealthy families in Iran are addicted to hard drugs, according to Sorena Sattari, Iran’s vice president for science and technology.

“A large number of young people from rich families fail to achieve anything in life because they are addicted to drugs,” Mr. Sattari said. “Nowadays, it is rare to see a young and wealthy person who is goal-oriented and career-minded. To succeed in life, one must be focused, motivated and hardworking. Life is all about overcoming obstacles.”

Vice President Sattari added: “To save our children, we must create a suitable environment for fostering talent and encouraging personal growth. We must distinguish between those who have brilliant minds and others who have deep pockets.”

Sattari pointed out: “Our nation’s true treasure is not its financial but intellectual resources.”
