Ralph Lauren Shows Breezy See-Now-Buy-Now Collection

American fashion giant Ralph Lauren shows his second See-Now-Buy-Now collection with breezy gowns and pant suits for the jet-setting clientele.

American fashion designer Ralph Lauren’s flagship New York store was transformed into a lush orchid garden on Wednesday for his latest “see-now-buy-now” collection.

More than 100,000 orchids adorned the walls of the Madison Avenue mansion, intertwined with moss and desert agave, setting the tone for the luxurious journey Lauren promised to put on show.

“The collection is called ‘Nomad.’ And it has an exotic sensibility to it. The fabrics are very unusual, and it was inspiring, about traveling and being a nomad and going to new areas and wearing clothes that are slightly more exotic and not everyday clothes,” the 77-year-old designer said.

While it was freezing outside, inside the models showed breezy dresses and pant suits in different shades of ivory and shimmering gold.

“Colorings, when you say ‘nomad’ to me was all these creams and silvers and golds and how to put them together was very important. So the clothes are never gimmicky, they are never necessarily with a theme,” Lauren explained.

The looks were finished with oversized bags and backpacks and chunky gold jewelry.

It-girls Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid walked in the show.

The collection is available for purchase on the company’s website and in the Madison Avenue store starting Thursday, February 16. – REUTERS
