Authorities in Tehran have recovered several valuable artifacts that had gone missing when a historic equestrian collection was moved from the Ghasre Firouzeh Museum to its new home at the Sports, Olympic and Paralympic Museum, the Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA) reported. Some objects are still unaccounted for, the report added.
Earlier this year, Iranian officials began moving all sport-related historical objects and artifacts to the newly opened Sports, Olympic and Paralympic Museum in Tehran.
The museum documented and filmed the collection before transferring it to its new location. Museum curators, however, discovered that 18 objects were unaccounted for, including a royal saddle which was later recovered. However, four objects are still missing.
