Iranian fashion designer Farnaz Salmani has unveiled her winter collection at Hangarist Exhibition Hall in Istanbul, Turkey, Anadolu Agency (AA) reports.
Ms. Salmani’s latest line included 23 different gown and shoe designs. Salmani started designing clothes 13 years ago. She has been living and working in Turkey for the past four years. Salami maintains two salons in Tehran and Istanbul.
Authorities do not allow mixed-sex fashion shows in Iran, forcing designers and artists to hold events at secret venues in Tehran and other cities. The law enforcement authorities recently shut down a large fashion salon selling foreign brands in the affluent town of Lavasan, 11 kilometers northeast of Tehran.
Iranian artists and designers who have showcased their works abroad usually run into difficulties when they try to exhibit or display their products in Iran. Many painters, sculptors, singers, musicians, and artists in other disciplines show their works outside Iran to avoid censorship by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and other state institutions.
