Nowruz 2024: Iranians Celebrate Their Heritage

This year’s Nowruz holiday in Iran saw thousands of people visiting historical sites and royal palaces. Official statistics released during the first few days of the holiday showed that more than 32,000 people visited Hafezieh, the tomb of the 14th-century poet Hafez, while Saadiyeh, the tomb of Iran’s 13th-century poet Saadi, saw nearly 19,000 visitors.

Persepolis, the capital of the Achaemenid Empire, built in 515 BCE, attracted over 24,000 visitors. Additionally, almost 35,000 people visited the three royal palaces of Niavaran, Golestan, and Saadabad.
