Iran’s government unveiled a new missile system, which officials said was domestically produced and capable of launching long-range ballistic missiles.

The system was presented by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps chief Hossein Salami, who said in a speech that the regime’s enemies would face both military and political force if they took what Salami considered to be a misstep when it came to Iran.

The unveiling coincided with the U.S. election, in an apparent signal to the West that the regime would continue on with its contested ballistic and nuclear programs despite international concern.

Iran’s Ayatollah Khamenei was widely criticized after saying that drawing a cartoon of the prophet Muhammad should carry the same legal consequences as comment denying the Holocaust.

Currently in France, it is illegal to question the existence of crimes against humanity, which include the Jewish genocide during the Second World War. Such a denial can lead to imprisonment or a fine.

Khamenei also questioned the need to criminalize Holocaust denials. The comments were passed in connection with the murder of French schoolteacher Samuel Paty, who was beheaded by an Islamic terrorist for showing cartoons of the prophet Muhammad to his students.

And Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe said she was ‘relieved’ after a court hearing set to send her back to prison was adjourned. Nazanin returned to her parents’ home in Tehran, where she has been carrying out her sentence under house arrest.

The trial was strongly condemned by the UK Foreign office, who said the so-called new charges were unfounded and that any return to jail for the mother-of-one would alter the diplomatic foundations of the Iranian-British relationship. No date has been set for the next hearing.
