Dec. 21 – British police arrested two Romanian men over the stabbing of Pouria Zeraati, a journalist working for opposition news outlet Iran International, in London in March.
The men were taken into custody at Heathrow Airport after they arrived on a flight from Romania, where they had been previously detained by Romanian authorities.
The men were charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
An Israeli resident of Jerusalem was arrested on suspicion of being in contact with Iranian intelligence agents as part of a plot to carry out an attack in Israel, according to Israeli security forces.
Israeli forces said the suspect had searched social media networks to purchase a gun, a silencer and materials to produce explosives.
Israeli officials said there had been repeated Iranian intelligence efforts in recent years to recruit ordinary Israelis to gather intelligence and carry out attacks.
And Manuchehr Nikpour, the former director and chief executive of Bank Sepah – Iran’s oldest bank – passed away peacefully in the United States.
Alongside his work as a banking professional, Nikpour was also the Director at Iran’s Social Welfare Organization, where he launched health and social programs, and implemented welfare initiatives for workers.
Nikpour leaves behind seven children, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
