The Islamic Republic’s influence once reached across the Middle East and beyond. Today, its tentacles are tangled. With sea routes blockaded, flights restricted, and borders closing, it threatens, stalls and guards its enriched uranium as though that could keep a country running.

Inside Iran, trust has drained away. Professionals are leaving, businesses are closing, and middle-class families struggle to make ends meet. The regime has little to offer those asking why they should stay or what future their children face.

Repression and exhaustion may keep Iranians off the streets for now, but they cannot turn resentment into loyalty, as the distance between rulers and the ruled deepens daily.
