DUBAI, Feb 4 (Reuters) – A fire at the waste warehouse of the Marun Petrochemical Refinery in southwest Iran on Tuesday has been put out, IRNA news agency reported, adding that six people suffered minor injuries from the incident.
Marun Petrochemical Refinery, located in Bandar-e-Mahshahr, has an annual production capacity of 1.1 million metric tons of polyethylene, IRNA said.
“The fire at the open-air hydrocarbon waste warehouse was completely put down by the local fire department within one hour of the incident being reported,” the official responsible for emergencies at the Mahshahr Petrochemical Special Economic Zone said.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
