Clips of Mansour Bahrami are going more viral than posts about Sinner, Alcaraz, and Djokovic. Because Mansour is more than just a player, he’s a showman. And the internet can’t get enough. But Mansour’s story didn’t start with Grand Slam tournaments. It started on the streets of Iran...”

July 7 - Switzerland advanced to the World Cup qua July 7 - Switzerland advanced to the World Cup quarterfinals with a 4-3 penalty shoot-out win over Colombia in Vancouver, after 120 scoreless minutes in a Round of 16 tie that finished goalless. Colombia created the better scoring chances during the match, including late opportunities in extra time that went unconverted. In the shoot-out, goalkeeper Gregor Kobel saved Cucho Hernández’s attempt, and Rubén Vargas converted the decisive penalty to send Switzerland through, marking their first quarterfinal appearance since 1954. Switzerland will next face Argentina in the quarterfinals in Kansas City.

My dear compatriots, This year marks the forty-se My dear compatriots,

This year marks the forty-seventh anniversary of the passing, in Egypt, of His Imperial Majesty the Shahanshah of Iran.

Throughout these many years, your dignified and steadfast presence has been a moving testament to the profound respect and affection with which you honour his memory, and to your enduring regard for the Pahlavi family.

From the very beginning, the Arab Republic of Egypt and its Presidents have extended to the Pahlavi family a friendship marked by constancy, generosity and brotherly affection. For this kindness, and for their unwavering consideration over the years, I remain deeply and ever grateful.

In view of the continuing security concerns and the unsettled circumstances in the region, the Government of Egypt has determined that this year’s commemoration should take place as a private observance, limited to members of the Pahlavi family.

It is therefore incumbent upon me, upon the entire Pahlavi family, and upon all patriotic Iranians to respect and observe this decision fully. I ask all my compatriots to honour the judgement of our friendly and brotherly nation and government with the dignity and understanding it deserves.

This year, in your absence, I shall pay tribute to the noble soul of Shahanshah Aryamehr not only on my own behalf, but on behalf of you all.

With heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support, and in anticipation of the triumph of light over darkness,

Farah Pahlavi

WASHINGTON, July 7 (Reuters) – The United States is revoking a general license that authorized the sale of Iranian oil, a U.S. official said on Tuesday, warning that Iran‘s actions in the Strait of Hormuz were “wholly unacceptable” and would be met with consequences after attacks on tankers in the strategic waterway.

The move came after three tankers reported being struck by unknown projectiles in and near the Strait of Hormuz in recent days, the British navy-affiliated agency UKMTO said in a report. There was no immediate comment from Tehran, or any claim of responsibility.

A U.S. official said negotiators continued to work in good faith toward a final agreement with Iran despite the latest escalation.

The attacks and the U.S. response threaten to put a fragile diplomatic understanding between Washington and Tehran on shaky ground, raising the risk that further retaliation could derail negotiations over a broader agreement.

The potential escalation comes as both sides had been working toward a deal that included limits on Iran‘s nuclear program and relief from some sanctions, including restrictions on oil exports.
July 7 (Reuters) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin July 7 (Reuters) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a CNN interview on Tuesday that despite occasional disagreements with U.S. President Donald Trump on Iran, they see “eye to eye” on the big things related to handling Tehran.

Netanyahu said it was too early to say what would happen after Washington and Tehran signed an interim peace deal.

“The President believes that he can stop Iran‘s nuclear program,” Netanyahu told CNN, but added that he has his doubts.

“On the big things we see eye to eye, and occasionally we don’t, but we’re true allies,” he said.
