UNITED NATIONS, Sept 22 (Reuters) – US President D UNITED NATIONS, Sept 22 (Reuters) – US President Donald Trump said that Iran and the United States had been talking on Tuesday, and he thinks the two countries will reach a deal at some point. “I think that a settlement is going to be reached,” Trump said after a meeting with British Prime Minister Andy Burnham on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York. “They want to talk to us. By Kayhan Life Staff Sept. 22 - Lawyers in Iran ar By Kayhan Life Staff Sept. 22 - Lawyers in Iran are actively being targeted by the Islamic Republic of Iran’s security apparatus and judiciary in the aftermath of the tragic protests of December and January. According to the U.S.-based Iran Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), at least 135 lawyers in 14 provinces across Iran have been summoned, detained, or prosecuted over the past year. In a statistical report documenting security and judicial pressure on lawyers in Iran, HRANA demonstrates that lawyers — particularly those active in human rights and representing political prisoners and people arrested during the protests — have faced systematic repression by the Islamic Republic. Measures taken against lawyers have included summonses, the opening of judicial cases, arrests, prison sentences, disbarment or suspension from practicing law, travel bans, and other judicial restrictions.
