Weekly Roundup: Dec.21st – Dec.28th

Welcome to the last weekend of the year.

As 2018 draws to a close our Review this week takes a look at the year that was, and summarizes the most important developments around Iran over the last 12 months.

A year ago, Vida Movahed took off her white hijab on Revolution Street and waved it silently as a flag of freedom for women in Iran. Her actions were seen by many as a symbol of the Iran Protests. The ongoing arrests of dual nationals by Iran’s government moved back into the spotlight Wednesday. Worldwide media reports of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe spending her fortieth birthday in prison on Boxing Day went viral on the internet. Today marks Nazanin’s 1,000th day in jail.

To make life a little sweeter our recipe this week is for Iranian ground meat patties, or kotlet. A favorite among Iranians, this warming dish is truly noshy.

Happy New Year from the Kayhan Life Team.
