Coronavirus infections in Iran continued to spread throughout the country, with at least 26,000 deaths in total recorded by the ministry of health.

The ministry also reported 3,825 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, raising the official number of infections in the country to 461,044 in total.

Prince Reza Pahlavi unveiled a new proposal described as an alternative form of governance for Iran. The proposed system was outlined in a document called the “new covenant” which calls for a sovereign government.

Addressing the opposition in a live broadcast, Prince Reza said the new form of governance would ensure that state power could never be monopolized by one individual or group.

New charges with no legal basis have been issued for political prisoners to stem protests in Iran, according to a new report published by the Center for Human Rights in Iran.

The center said judgments were also being rushed through without due process enabling authorities to detain individuals indefinitely.

And software programmers inside Iran’s Islamic Militia, or Basij, were asked to make a video game entitled “Rescuing George Floyd” by the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRCG).

The instructions for producing the software included making a game in which players rescued black citizens from American police forces. George Floyd was an African-American whose death sparked an international outcry against police brutality and racial bias.
